Description

Rockin' Country with the Modern Day Drifters. This Door County band promises a great time!

This concert will begin an hour later due to the noon Shanty Days parade.

Modern Day Drifters has been a local favorite since the group formed in 2007. A perfect example of why it’s often difficult to categorize bands, their blend of Classic Country favorites from the 1950s to today’s hits, mixed with some early Rock & Roll favorites is a genre-crossing style that simply makes you want to sing along and dance. Whether you’re 8 or 80, Modern Day Drifters is great entertainment for the entire family.

Brothers Brian and Jason Leist started playing as a duo in 2005, for mostly family events and in 2006, they got their first paid gig at the St. Joseph picnic in Sturgeon Bay.  John and Mike McCaulley came in almost by accident when they would occasionally come over to jam with Brian and Jason. Those jams sounded good enough for the family that they recommended the group for entertainment at other events. Their first gig as a 4-piece band was July, 2007, again at the St. Joe’s picnic. Bobby Brauer joined the group in September of 2007. Since that time the band has only improved, developing its own sound and gaining the attention of more and more fans every year.

Description

The original von Stiehl Winery building is located on the north side of Navarino Street; two blocks from Lake Michigan on the Ahnapee River. The Italianate four story building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Guest areas include the third story tasting room, a 2,700 square foot terrace, and an underground vault available for special and private events.

Across the street is the second and current winery; otherwise known as Over There. Production moved to Over There in June 2011. The 11,100 square foot facility houses bottling, production, and wine storage rooms. It is available to see during any of our regularly scheduled tours.
