Our Wisconsin Wines

…feature 30 grape and fruit wine recipes using top quality ingredients from local fruit (Door County cherries), as well as west coast grown grapes (Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon). The grape Wisconsin wines produced at the winery range from traditional vinifera (European origin) to French hybrid wines (Midwestern flavor). From specialty oak-aged and brandy-fortified fruit wines to our gold medal winning dry white and red Wisconsin wines, everyone finds something that they can enjoy at von Stiehl.

Our Wisconsin Vineyard

Established in 1996 on land that has been in the Schmiling family for over 100 years, the Stony Creek Vineyard was named after the meandering waterway it overlooks. Three French-hybrid grape varieties, Marquette, Marechal Foch, and Frontenac, can be found in the estate bottled Stony Creek Rosé, Sylvester, and Dry Marquette wines. The vineyard is the oldest commercial vineyard located in Door County, just six miles north of the winery, and remains a primary grape supplier for our Wisconsin wines.
