The annual Northeastern Wisconsin Czech/Kolache Fest comes to the peninsula August 7 and 8, 2010. It is the largest Czech Festival in Northeastern Wisconsin, and features accordion music, vendors, and kolaches fresh from the oven until the crowds eat them all.
The event takes place at the Heritage Farm, a well-preserved Czech Farmstead just south of Kewaunee. Tap your feet to the Jolly Czechs Band while nibbling tasty Czech Chicken Booyah. Life doesn't get much better than this.
On your way to and/or from Kewaunee, stop by our Algoma Wisconsin winery for a tour and wine tasting. We will happily recommend wine to accompany your chicken booyah and favorite Czech desserts.
Our Algoma winery is located just 45 minutes northeast of Green Bay, by Lake Michigan. Drive to Algoma, head south along the coast to Kewaunee, then circle back to Green Bay - it's the perfect weekend scenic drive, and it can involve good Wisconsin wine and Czech food to boot.
