Fall Color and Wisconsin Wine
Ah, it's that time of year. The time when green leaves in Algoma and Door County Wisconsin transform into glorious shades of red, gold, orange, and yellow. The heat of summer dissipates, and cool, crisp days invite outdoor activity. It's the perfect time to run away to a cabin in the woods or by the lake.
Von Stiehl Wisconsin Wine augments every weekend getaway. Grill a steak and share a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon after a long hike through the trails of colorful Door County. Sip on our Dry Apple "Wrap" after a long bike ride. Spend all day outside then curl up by the fire with a glass of our Oak Aged Cherry Kirsche.

The Fresh Taste of Spring
Spring in and around Door County bursts with color. Pink and white cherry and apple blossoms sit fatly on trees, gathering energy to morph into tasty, succulent fruit. The vintner at our Algoma Wisconsin Winery transforms some of those luscious cherries into Cherry Blossom Blush.
Enjoy a glass of this semi-dry white wine blushed with Montmorency cherries. It's delightful on its own, with a plate of hard cheeses and crackers, or even with a dense, delicious, chocolate dessert.
Stop by our Algoma WI Winery on your way up to the Door County Festival of Blossoms this spring. Enjoy a Spring Blossom Trolley Tour out of Sturgeon Bay or Carlsville. Bike the 30-mile Ahnapee Trail. Explore Ellison Bluff Park or bring your boat and cruise along the shoreline of Lake Michigan.
A cooling glass of Cherry Blossom Blush is the perfect way to end a day spent breathing in the lovely scent of spring blossoms. Or toast the arrival of spring with one of our other Wisconsin Wines: Dry Cherry, Dry Apple "Wrap", Doc Stiehl's Cherry Bounce, Cherry Kirsche "Oak Aged", or Cherry Brandy.

Amazing Christmas Dessert
No matter what you're serving for Christmas dinner, be it prime rib or roast goose, you'll want a dessert that makes your guests sit up and take notice. You had pie for Thanksgiving. How about a cake?
Black Forest Boule-de-Neige ("Snowball") uses a special ingredient: our Wisconsin Winery Cherry Kirsche. The perfect blend of brandy spirits and Door County Cherry wine, our Kirsche adds a unique flavor to all it touches.
In the spirit of the season, we've decided to share our Black Forest Boule-de-Neige recipe with you.

Wisconsin Cherry Wine
When the cherry trees are in bloom, it's a good time to drink our Cherry Wisconsin Wines.
We have several varieties. Our Dry Cherry is an excellent accompaniment to hearty meat dishes, like wild game. Imagine that food drenched in a cherry reduction sauce, and you have an idea of what awaits when you crack open a bottle of Door County Montmorency Cherries.
For dessert, enjoy a glass of our Cherry Kirsche or Cherry Kirsche Oak Aged, Wisconsin Dessert Wines. These fortified wines blend brandy spirits and cherry wine, and are the perfect match to dense chocolate desserts or rich cheese cakes.
Or finish off your meal with a glass of Dr. Stiehl's Cherry Bounce, a smooth blend of cherry wine and cherry brandy. You won't need dessert - you'll just want to sink into a chair and let the doctor work his magic.
A Taste of Spring
It's March, and though you may not know it by looking out the window, spring is on the way. Spring means cherries, and when anyone mentions cherries here at our Wisconsin winery, we think of our Cherry Kirsche "Oak Aged" fortified wine. And that makes us happy.
When you are looking for a wine to pair with a nice, rich dessert, try the Cherry Kirsche Oak Aged. It has an intense flavor, bursting with the flavor of Door County Cherries. It goes exceptionally well with rich chocolate desserts (is there anything better than chocolate and cherries?) and cheesecake. It will infuse your dining room with the fragrance of spring.
During these last weeks of winter, it is essential to eat comfort food as often as possible, and an integral part of these hearty meals is our Wisconsin wine. We encourage you to stop by our Tasting Room any day of the week, so you can choose an assortment of wines for a variety of meals. If you stop by on a Saturday, you may enjoy the tour of our historic buildings, offered at 2pm through May.
