Wine Festival Scavenger Hunt

If the Wet Whistle Wine Festival were a person, it would now be old enough to attend its own event and order a glass of wine. The event’s beginning dates back to September 27-28, 2002. Some of the newest wine-consumption crowd today may have only been a twinkle in their parents’ eyes when this event first kicked off.

To help you feel young at heart, we’ve concocted an adult game that’ll make you wonder, make you wander, and tickle your curiosity. It’s a little less drinking, and a little more time to socialize. It’s a chance to test your skills and memory.

Do you think you know a lot about von Stiehl and the Wet Whistle Wine Festival?

Perhaps you’ve been to one or two of these festivals, or maybe to every single one.

Have you dazzled your friends with history lessons about the Minnesota Stagmeyer Oak barrels of 2000, and can describe every last detail of the red-capsuled ’08 Barrel Select Cabernet Sauvignon?

Do you have pics of you stomping in a barrel in 2005, some of which are even hanging in your living room?

Do you secretly follow the “You Might Be From Algoma” Facebook page to gain every last morsel of insider wisdom about the town?

You know every last name of every nun that has attended the wine fest. You have pics with the nuns enjoying Oktoberfest wine.

Okay, well you have a good start there… But, can you find that which isn’t lost?

The Wine Festival scavenger hunt will take you in and around the festival grounds. We could share all of the scavenger hunt clues right here and now, but what fun would it be to give you a leg up in this mini-competition?

Here’s some helpful information to get you started on the hunt at this year’s Wet Whistle Wine Fest.

  • Look for the Scarecrows by the wine tent on the festival grounds. They will highlight the places that you can grab a scavenger hunt form.
  • There is no cost to participate, but the rewards of discovering knowledge are endless.
  • It doesn’t matter where you begin, as long as you bring your completed sheet to the white tent in front of the winery. Spoiler, we’ll also ask you to check in on social media.
  • Need not wear a costume to win, but it will help with the festival feel.
  • Prize: A free glass or flight of wine or cider on Saturday or Sunday at the winery, Terrace Bar, or Cider & Spirits Bar.
