Kewaunee Trout Festival, near Algoma

July 15th, 2009 by

South of our lovely town of Algoma, also on the shores of Lake Michigan, is the quaint town of Kewaunee. This weekend, July 17, 18 and 19, Kewaunee hosts the 37th Annual Trout Festival. This is a perfect excuse for a weekend getaway on Lake Michigan, and a weekend getaway is the perfect time to visit our Algoma Wisconsin winery.

This is a fun-filled weekend, with something for everyone. From fireworks to live music, kids games to fishing challenges, you always find something interesting to do. Fireworks kick off the event Friday at dusk, after several hours of live music from Brandy Mans (3:30 – 7pm). Plan to be exhausted Saturday night, after a full day of offshore fishing, the Troutman Duathlon, Sand Volleyball, Kids Games, a Carshow, and arts and crafts. Oh, and live music, of course: Halo Denied from 11:30 – 1:30, Element 13 from 3:00 – 7:00, and Running Blind from 8:00 pm-Midnight. Did I say you would be tired?

Well, hopefully you won’t be too tired to listen to a bit of 5 Studs and a Wingnut (1:30pm-5:30pm) on Sunday before or after heading up to the oldest winery in Wisconsin. We invite you to tour our historic buildings, taste some extremely tasty wine, and recover from Saturday’s events at our winery near Lake Michigan. We look forward to seeing you soon.
