Sweet Saturdays February 2019

December 16th, 2018 by Rayanne Racine

Bored from being inside this winter? Jump in the car, go for a drive, and visit us any Saturday in February and enjoy complimentary samples of various sweet treats.

Sweet treats we will be featuring are near and dear to us because they are from local confectioners. That means you may find a new favorite. We will even let you know which wine pairs well with each sweet!

Confectioners will be onsite from Noon – 3 pm each Saturday in February.

Check out below our ‘Sweet’ line up below:

February 2nd – Sap Happy Maple Products – Owned by a fourth-generation maple syrup producer right here in Algoma, WI. Sap Happy Maple Products specializes in candied nuts and other delightful treats.

February 9th – Country Ovens – Country Ovens is located in Forestville, WI. Since 1987, Country Ovens is home to many Cherry De-Lite cherry treats made exclusively from Door County Montmorency tart cherries.

February 16th – White Cottage Red Door – Featuring Cherry Wine Fudge hand-crafted the old-fashioned way, on a marble slab White Cottage Red Door is a local treat! Opened in the spring of 2017, in what was the space formerly occupied for 57 years, by Ray’s Cherry Hut.

February 23rd – Love You More Toffee – Specializing in hand-dipped small batch English toffee, Love You More, LLC was founded in 2015 and is a local favorite!

Anything sampled will be available for purchase, in case the sample kept you craving for more!

Make your day even sweeter by enjoying wine tastings! We recommend trying our Cherry Bounce or Apple Bounce, as they are brandy fortified and an extraordinary treat.

If sweets aren’t your thing, don’t worry… we have plenty of delectable dry wines, such as our Pinot Noir, Calistoga Cabernet, and our 2016 El Dorado Dolcetto. And if you feel like snacking, we have an array of gourmet cheeses.

Why not make a weekend of it and reserve spots on our VIP Tour that takes place on Friday afternoons! It includes a behind the scenes tour with one of our wine makers and a three course pairing.

Looking for a place to stay? We recommend staying at Hotel Stebbins if you want to be within walking distance. Otherwise, view all of Algoma’s Lodging here.
