Our 4th annual, Just Desserts will take place on Friday, November 15th from 6-8 pm. Enjoy a flight of five pre-selected von Stiehl wines paired with different sweet treats at this exclusive after hours event. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted and brought to century and half year old tunnels to enjoy your dessert and wine flight.

Admission

Admission is $28 and includes your dessert & wine flight pairing and exclusive specials.

Event Details

  • Must be at least 21 to consume alcohol.
  • This event is an adult only event. Those under the age of 21 must be accompanied by an adult and will have to purchase a ticket.
  • Going up and down stairs will be required, as this event will be held in our barrel-aging cellars.

The BrewVino Steer Roast is a wine and beer event of a different flavor!

You’ll have the chance to taste the most popular varieties of von Stiehl wines and Ahnapee brews during the event and enjoy the opportunity to buy an exclusive batch each of wine and beer produced just for the event.

What’s so special about the steer roast? For starters, the steer is unique.

Spent grains from the brewery are currently being fed to our steer at the Bryersquart Family Farm, one of the top farms in polled genetic cattle in Door County. Bryersquart is family to one of the winery owners. The steer is well cared for by Scott Jeanquart, a genetic expert, who is growing one of Door County’s finest herds. His animals and embryos are sold at auction to buyers in the United States and beyond.

Why is the steer roast called the “BrewVino Roast?”

This steer is raised on Ahnapee Brewery spent grains at the Bryersquart Family Farm (Brew). Prior to the roast, the steer is bathed in a cherry wine marinade (Vino). This is a true farm-to-table experience! And not just anybody is preparing this feast. For starters, the steer is processed by Otto’s Meats in Luxemburg. von Stiehl Winemaker, Aric Schmiling, prepares the special cherry and red wine marinade. Then, the full carcass is marinated for 24 hours prior to the steer roast. The roast begins with a hot fire at 3 am on the day of the event, with a serving time somewhere between noon and 2 pm.

FAQs

What does everything cost?

The ticket for this event costs $25 and includes admission, the steer plate, bottled water, a commemorative glass, and fantastic tunes. Wine and beer are àla carte. If there’s extra food after everyone’s been served, you will have the opportunity to buy extras!

A Super Select wine tasting will also be available for purchase in our cellars for $15.

Kewaunee County sales tax and an 85¢ online ticketing fee are added to e-commerce sales.

Tickets can be purchased by scrolling to the bottom of the page. Tickets are non-transferable. Lastly, no refunds on tickets.

What’s on the steer plate?

Beef, corn on the cob, and other fixings, which might include a roll, beans and coleslaw.

Should I bring a chair?

It might not hurt. We have seating for around 300, and a capped attendance of 750. People do come and go, so getting a table isn’t super hard.

Is it rain or shine?

You bet. Also keep in mind that Lake Michigan can offer a chilly 45 degree wind anytime before the 4th of July. It would be wise to bring layers and a jacket.

Is there free wine and beer tasting?

Not inside the event grounds. Inside the winery, we offer complimentary tasting. The brewery almost never gives away their beer, but 5-ounce samplers sell in the tap room for $2 each.

Will there be winery tours?

Yes! However, we will only have two tours due to the event. The tours will be at 10:30 am and 2:30 pm. For more information on our tours click here.

Is my pup allowed?

Due to this event being a food event, we are not allowing dogs inside the event grounds. The only exception is for service dogs.

Can I pay for the tickets with a debit or credit card instead of using PayPal?

Yes! Fill out the bottom ticket information. After clicking “Proceed to Check Out”, look over your information. You will then enter your billing information. Click proceed to PayPal (the next page will have the option to use debit or credit). On the next page that pops up, either sign in to PayPal or click “Pay with Debit or Credit” at the bottom. This will allow you to pay via your Debit/Credit Card instead of creating a PayPal account.

Member Exclusive 2014 Alexander Valley Merlot Launch & Pick Up Party

Family Plan wine club members, join us during our January Club Pick Up Party – Winter Open House on Saturday, January 19th, for carefully selected wine pairings and the launch of our 2014 Alexander Valley Merlot! Relax and mingle, while enjoying delicious wine and food pairings, featuring wines not included in your wine selection.

For the launch of our 2014 Alexander Valley Merlot, enjoy a sample provided by our wine making team in our 150 year old wine aging tunnels. This wine will only be available the day of the party!

If you are unable to attend, please plan to pick up your selection within 30 days. If you have not picked up by February 18th, we will charge your card on file and ship it to your door. Your January wine club will be available, at the earliest, January 15th.

 

About the Pick Up Parties

We pick our best wine and find various treats, cheeses and munchies from around Wisconsin to pair with our wines. To celebrate each selection, we host a series of parties for our Family Plan wine club members to taste the pairings and wines. This time also provides the perfect time for members to pick up their wine club selections. The party is an open-house style event, so come and go as you please on January 19th.

 

Invitations / RSVP

Invitations are sent via email prior to each party to all Family Plan wine club members. We require the courtesy of a reply, so please RSVP below. Guests and non-club members will be required to pay a $10 admission if they would like to participate in the pairings.

 

Who Can Attend The Parties?

All Family Plan wine club members are welcome to attend the party! We typically ship your wine? Visiting from out of the area? No problem – as long as you are a wine club member in good standing, you are welcome to attend – RSVP to let us know you will join us.

For those who typically ship, please let us know if you would like to pick up your wine.

 

Pricing

Each Family Plan wine club member that RSVPs may:

  • Attend with one (1) partner with our compliments.
  • Bring up to two (2) guests at $10 each paid upon arrival.

To avoid confusion, Case Club members are different than Family Plan wine club members. Case Club members will have to pay to attend this event.

Pick Up Weekend

Join us for our first Pick Up Weekend!

This event is exclusively made with our Family Plan Club members in mind. This weekend is the perfect time to pick up your selection, try new wines, and enjoy special offerings only club members are given.

During the Pick Up Weekend, you will be able to sample wines in the cellar that will be paired with various treats, munchies and cheeses. These pairings will be different than what will be in the selection, giving you even more ideas on what to pair with our wine! Glasses of the featured wines will be available for 50% off!

Bring a friend to show them how much you love von Stiehl and our wine! If you refer your friend to become a family plan club member, you will be given $10 off a purchase at the winery!

Pairings will feature our wine with some of our favorite munchies and sweets!

All dates will have the special offerings 12-4 pm.

FAQ

What time should I come?

This is a drop-in pairing, so come and go as you like!

Will my guests have to pay?

Maybe! A Family Plan membership includes free admission for two individuals. If you are able to attend but your partner isn’t able to, you are more than welcome to invite a friend to take their place. Any additional individuals will have to pay $10. However, if they sign up for the Family Plan at the party they will be refunded with a $10 wine certificate.

Can I attend even if I am not a guest or a Family Plan member?

We are allowing non-Club members to indulge in the special offerings for $10 during the Pick Up Weekend. If you do come and pay $10 and then decide to join the club, you will be refunded with a $10 wine certificate!
