Throw Caution to the Wind and Stomp on a Grape

September 18th, 2009 by

This is it! This weekend is Wisconsin’s Oldest Winery Wet Whistle Wine Festival. This could be your big chance to win the opportunity to STOMP ON GRAPES. Wine stomping is an old tradition – it used to be one of the most effective ways to pull juice from grapes. Nowadays, most folks who partake in it do so for fun – and boy, do we have fun! Don’t worry: we won’t make you drink the wine we pull from under your own feet, but we will give you the opportunity to win some tasty wine from our Wisconsin Winery.

We hope you will take time this weekend to come to our winery by the shores of Lake Michigan. Fall is here, and fall means wine. The air has a crispness to it that it hasn’t had over the summer. The leaves have a hint of red and yellow and orange along their edges. There will be plenty to do in Algoma this weekend, from tasting wine to visiting our historic buildings to viewing great art and listening to great music. Of course, the food will also be spectacular, and will bring out the best in the wine (and vice versa), so bring your appetite, too!
