What’s that? You think all these gifts are great, but you’d prefer to stick to the traditional gifts of various species of birds and “Pipers Piping”? Well, thanks to the latest PNC Christmas Price Index, we have a few points that we’d like you to consider:
If even one Partridge is what you’re after, you may be well within your price range. However, this little birdy’s rent has continued to increase. Unfortunately, the rate of Pear Trees has continued to grow in the last year by 13.5%, costing $420.18 in 2025 (Reflecting overall growth in housing costs.)
It may also be a good time to prioritize the gifts on your wishlist this year, as “True Love” may be blowing the entire budget with the two most expensive gifts in 2025: Seven Swans-a-Swimming, a $13,125.00 purchase. And, number one, 10 Lords-a-Leaping, a hefty $16,836.14, placing it as the most expensive gift in 2025.
So, although we love the idea of traditional gifts, in 2025, the “Core” Index collection of all these gifts (excluding the Swans) will cost $38,351.12, a 6.1% increase from last year. Plus, if your “True Love” had rolled out the dough for every count of repetition within the Christmas Carol, “12 Days of Christmas”, totaling 364 presents, they would be spending $218,542.98, a 4.4% increase from 2024. So, unless you are married to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson or Taylor Swift, you may not wake up to any “Dancing Ladies” under your tree, let alone much in your bank account.
So, mark your calendars, check your inboxes, and scroll through social media to experience something new but just as festive!
