Cheesy Saturdays October 2018

August 22, 2018 by Rayanne Racine

Cheesy Saturdays are back! When should you go on a cheese diet? … When you need to cheddar a few pounds!

Our Cheesy Saturdays won’t be quite as cheesy as that joke, but it will include enjoying delectable complimentary samples! Visit us any Saturday in October and enjoy complimentary samples of various cheese products.

The cheeses we are featuring are near and dear to us because they are made by local cheese producers. We all know Wisconsin does cheese best! Since we are a winery, we will even let you in on a secret as to which wine pairs well with each cheese.

Vendors present are featured below.

10/6 – Krohn’s Dairy Products: Krohn’s Dairy Store, located in Luxemburg, WI, is a full service cheese shop offering over 100 styles of Wisconsin cheese, including fresh cheese curds, and has been serving the community for over 125 years.

10/13 – Ron’s Cheese: Ron’s Cheese, locally owned and established in 1976, is located in Luxemburg, WI.  Ron’s cheese shop offers a variety of specialty cheeses, handmade spreads, fresh cheese curds, whips and string cheese.

10/20 – Simon’s Specialty Cheese: Simon’s Specialty Cheese has been making cheese since 1940 and offers over 100 varieties of cheese. They are located in Little Chute, WI.

10/27 – Kraemer Cheese: Kraemer Cheese, the maker of our Crimson Royale Cheese Spread, is located in Watertown, WI, and has been making fine dairy products since the 1920s. Rest assured, they will be bringing the Crimson Royale Cheese Spread!

Country Music, Wisconsin Wine

August 8, 2011 by

The Cuisine Concert series at our Algoma Wisconsin Winery continues on Saturday, August 13, with the Modern Day Drifters. It’s hard to sit still when listening to music by this country band from Door County. Jason Leist fronts the band; his deep, smooth voice moves audiences no matter what their age. He’s joined on stage by his brother Brian, cousins Mike and John McCaulley, and Bobby Brauer, no relation. We’ll serve some tasty country-style food on the 13th, along with a selection of Wisconsin cheeses and crackers. Our Wisconsin Wine will be available for purchase as well. Ask us which wines best compliment the food and cheese, or try several and see for yourself. We’ve recently bottled a new batch of Framboise and it’s ready to drink. Since Algoma’s Shanty Days Festival takes place the weekend of August 13, the Modern Day Drifters Cuisine Concert will start at 1 p.m. and run until 5 p.m. Drop by for a while if you’re in town for Shanty Days, and check out Shanty Days if your in town for the Cuisine Concerts.

Our Cuisine Concerts take place outside on our terrace, where seating is available both in the shade and sun. In the event of rain, we host our Cuisine Concerts in our limestone tunnels. It’s such a beautiful setting we know folks who hope for rain!
