Looking to spice up your traditional Friday Fish Fry?
Then kickstart your weekend by attending our Low Country Boil & Wine Tasting on Friday, June 21st, 2024 from 4:30pm – 7:30pm.
This event will take place along the beautiful Ahnapee River, and will begin with a wine tasting and education. Here, guests will be able to sample six of our most popular and newest white wine varieties before indulging the senses with our main course of the evening, our Low Country Boil. Our brand-new Tequila Barrel-Aged Sauvignon Blanc will be just one of the special wines that will be waiting for you.
As with most Southern cuisine, the Low Country boil originates from the traditions of the Gullah Geechee people. This group of people harvested from the land and sea, using spices and traditional cooking methods that evolved into ‘Southern’, ‘Cajun’, and ‘Creole’ cooking styles… Or as we come to know and love, “Soul Food.”
Just as we experience in Wisconsin, a Low Country Boil is also said to be as much of a recipe as it is a social tradition. This Low Country Boil, consisting of sausage, shrimp, potatoes, and corn, are all cooked together in a pot, then served as a southern ‘dump-style buffet’ around a center table. Local celebrity chef, Marshall Wiltfang, of Son of Skaliwags, will be preparing and serving this meal.
Admission is $115 per person. We will also be capping the event’s attendance to 34 individuals, so purchase your tickets today.
